I have recently started a new Center, called Eugene Center for Anxiety and Stress, LLC. Please see my new website at www.eugeneanxiety.com
Psychological Assessment The goal of a psychological assessment (sometimes called a psychological evaluation) is to: * help a person identify personal strengths and challenges * identify personalized recommendations for achieving greater success * describe possible accommodations that would help the person in their life
The assessment might looks at: * a person's thinking and processing skills * emotional responses * personality * functioning at school, work, home, and/or relationships
Psychological assessment includes: * a clinical interview * different paper and pencil or computerized tests * the evaluation can take several hours and is typically scheduled over more than one day
The outcome of the evaluation includes: * a feedback session to goes over the results * a comprehensive report
I take referrals for many different kinds of questions, some of which are included below: * assessment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity DIsorder (ADHD) * assessment of learning disorders * assessment to help clarify psychological diagnosis or questions about treatment recommendations
I do not take referrals for dementia, head injury, or issues that are primarily neurological in nature; for these assessments, you will need to meet with a neuropsychologist who has specialized training in issues related to brain changes
